Through comprehensive support, including shelter, affordable housing, and a range of services, they collaborate with individuals and families who are committed to achieving their goal of self-sustainability. Bradbury Sullivan LGBT Community Center

Another AED has been donated! Heartfelt Harmonies is proud to say that there is now and AED protecting the Bradbury Sullivan LGBT Community Center.

The Center is a radically inclusive Queer space based in the Lehigh Valley, fostering Queer joy & liberation. Prioritizing the most marginalized populations throughout Pennsylvania, they provide innovative programs, services and experiences for their LGBTQ+ population through connection, education, culture and healing. The Center primarily supports the LGBTQ+ community in the Greater Lehigh Valley Area. The virtual groups have been attended by community members from across the country and their most recent Pride Festival was attended by over 7500 LGBTQ+ and Allied individuals.

They have community members of all ages visiting daily for groups, programming, and just a space to find Queer community.

The addition of an onsite AED would allow them to make sure that, should a community member need this life saving treatment, they can provide that help at the Center while additional assistance is on route.

A special thank you to both Ms. Ketterer and Julia Rock-Torcivia for helping facilitate this donation!

Saint Stephen’s Youth Programs (SSYP)

Heartfelt Harmonies has contributed another AED machine! This machine will be protecting lives at Saint Stephen’s Youth Programs in Boston, Massachusetts.

Nearly 25 years ago, St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church opened its doors as a place for youth to feel safe, big, and connected. This act was the founding of SSYP. The mission of SSYP today is to promote equity in education, employment and opportunity through long-term relationships with young people and their families and community. This is accomplished through three primary strategies: out-of-school-time programs, teen employment and college and career access programs, and community and family organizing programs.

For at least 75% of the SSYP community, English is not their first language (interpretation services at meetings and trainings include Spanish, Arabic, Cape Verdean Creole, Somali, English). Sixty-five percent of their youth live in public housing; on average 20% of their youth are experiencing homelessness.

Truly an amazing organization, thank you to Ms. Merrill and Mr. Cavanagh for helping organize and accept this donation!

They work with low-income people in the South End and Roxbury neighborhoods, with a focus on BIPOC youth and seniors, unhoused individuals, and people returning home from incarceration.

Thank you to Ms. Duffy for helping organize and accept this donation!

Big Brother Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh

Heartfelt Harmonies is honored to donate our 9th AED to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh. BBBSGP’s main mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

For more than 57 years, BBBSPGH has served youth in the Pittsburgh region by creating a vast network of support and strong partnerships that help these youth thrive. We believe that children nurtured by a community of positive, caring adults can reach their fullest potential. These convictions are reflected in our mission.

BBBSPGH has continuously grown and adapted its programs to facilitate community improvements across the Greater Pittsburgh region. Since the beginning, the mission has always involved the time-tested and evidence-based process of intentionally pairing every child (“Little”) with a pre-screened and trained volunteer mentor (“Big”) to form a professionally supported relationship (“match”). Once matched, Bigs and Littles spend consistent time together, engage in positive interactions, explore new activities, and ultimately develop strong and enduring relationships.

Through their services, they serve upwards of 1,200 youth each year. At their offices, they offer match activities throughout each month; conduct match meetings with mentors, youth, and families; provide trainings for volunteers; and engage with applicants in an interview process. This means that hundreds of people of all ages walk through the doors of our offices every month—youth, parents, grandparents, etc. Because BBBSGP is growing significantly, they recently acquired a second office space in Washington County to better support youth and families residing in that area. As they shift to increasing in-person activities and interactions, the need for AEDs in our offices becomes more urgent. They need to ensure staff are prepared to act in any emergency situation considering the number of people who utilize our office spaces, which includes having the proper equipment should someone require an AED before emergency services arrive.

HomeFront

HomeFront’s mission is to end homelessness in Central New Jersey by harnessing the caring, resources, and expertise of the community. Their mission is to lessen the immediate pain of homelessness and empower families to become self-sufficient and help families break the cycle of poverty.

Started by volunteers providing meals for families living in welfare motels, HomeFront has since developed a holistic array of services for clients who are either homeless or at high risk of becoming. On any given night, they provide emergency shelter, transitional housing, and permanent service-enriched housing to over 475 people, two-thirds of them children! Some of their many services include case management, homelessness prevention services (including back rent & utility assistance), emergency food, free clothing, and household goods at our FreeStore, affordable housing searches, job placement, and readiness skills.

HomeFront has several buildings across the community. The donated by Heartfelt Harmonies AED will be located at their main Campus which includes a food pantry, homelessness prevention services, therapeutic art, and emergency assistance programs.

Anchor House

Heartfelt Harmonies is excited to announce that we have donated a total of four AEDs to Anchor House in Trenton, New Jersey, to support their new facilities. Accessibility to AED matter, as time is critical!

Anchor House provides shelter, school outreach, transitional and supportive housing, and street outreach to youth, ages 12 to 21 years of age, from Mercer County and throughout the state of New Jersey.

Today, Anchor House offers a myriad of comprehensive, life-saving programs and services to more than 1,000 youth and their families each year. Their mission is to provide a safe haven where abused, runaway, homeless and at-risk youth and their families are empowered to succeed and thrive.

We hope that these AEDs will protect those served by the amazing services at Anchor House in the case of an emergency!

Saint Peter’s Village

Heartfelt Harmonies Charity has donated another AED! The latest recipient was St.Peter’s Village, a beloved and respected organization in Denville, NJ providing a home living environment for young boys. As a state-funded facility, they operate under tight resources, and their current AED device was old and possibly not functional.

We hope that St. Peter’s will never have to use this AED but if an event occurs they will be prepared.
